God looked down on his paradise and was pleased. He looked upon all of the peoples of the earth. He noticed the many sports that athletes participated in. God said, "I need to create the ultimate sport and the ultimate athlete." So God made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete who is willing to participate in a sport that requires discipline, sacrifice, dedication, hard work, and commitment." So God made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who is willing to face another athlete one-on-one in the most physically demanding sport in existence with no one else to help him and yet not be afraid." So He made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who can defeat his opponent with strength, power, speed, agility, and technical skills. So God made a wrestler.

God said, "I need person who is willing to get up at 6:00 am so he can run five miles before going to school. Still come home and do his homework. " So God made a wrestler.

God had to have someone willing to practice the same move for hours, day after day until he had it perfected. So He made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete who Declares as a boy that one day he will be an Olympic champion and never doubles himself." So God made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who can lose his final college match making it his only loss during his high school and college career. Dominating fashion and then go on to become one of the greatest wrestling coaches in collegiate history. " So God made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete who is willing to shoot a million low single legs in his lifetime and perform a leg lace fifty times a day because he knows the value of drilling." So He made a wrestler.

God had to have someone who could get pinned one week and then defeat that same opponent the following week to win the conference championship because he believed in himself and in his abilities. So God made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete who is willing to work hard for four years and never regret it even though he never makes the varsity team. " So He made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who is willing to practice three times a day preparing for the NCAA Tournament because his coach thinks that is what is needed to be prepared. Regular wrestling practice because his coach thinks that will give him the edge going into the NCAA Tournament. " So God made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete that can be undefeated for thirteen years of international competition and then lose a match with the whole world watching and yet still be a gentleman and shake his opponent's hand." So God made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who can face a man that has not lost a match in thirteen years and yet feel up to the challenge and never doub himself." So He made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who can become a seven time world champion and a three time Olympic gold medal winner becoming one of the best in his sport of all time." So God made a wrestler.

God needed an athlete who would run wind sprints until his lungs burned and his legs ached. He needed that same person to do push-ups until his arms could no longer lift his body up for even one more repetition. God needed an athlete willing to work to the point of utter exhaustion. So He made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete who is willing to turn down a candy bar or a cheeseburger because he needs to make weight the next day. In peak condition, even though he'd much more eat pizza and drink soda pop. " So He made a wrestler.

"I need an athlete who can work twelve hour days at a summer job and still still make practicing and working out a priority." So He made a wrestler.

God needed an athlete to practice his skills, lift weights, run, eat healthy, strive for perfection, overcome defeat, show good sportsmanship, toil, sweat, bleed, and sometimes even cry. So God made a wrestler.

God said, "I need an athlete who develops the character, values, self-discipline, and work ethic that will be with him even after his days of competition are over." So God made a wrestler.

Marketing your photography studio does not have to be expensive. I've used hundreds of low cost marketing strategies over the last twenty five years and managed to build my photography studio to the point where I am one of the busiest and most successful studios in my city. Here's a few tips for you:

1. Create a photo display. A photography display can be as simple as displaying a few small portraits at a store and offering some free information about your studio or more elaborate set ups with framed wall samples. You can even create large temporary displays inalls or at events such as trade shows. The important thing is how it looks. You will attract a lot of attention with some great images, especially from woman, who happens to be your target market. Displays will help you create a lot of business if you play your cards right. Have a great selection of images, be presentable yet never pushy, have a system for collecting names and address's from those wanting more information by simply asking or offering a draw prize, and keep in touch with all those prospects. It's the beginning of a potential long term and lucrative relationship.

2. Have a free giveaway. Offer a time limited in studio session and small reprint. Tell them there is no obligation for further purchase, and mean it. You will make some sales anyways and you will acquire many long term clients if you do a good job for them. Some will only grab the freebie, but the odds are very good that you will upsell without being sneaky or pushy. Especially if you are professional and create some great images. Do this at mall displays, banks, schools or offer it to a list of clients from a non-competitive business in your town or city. Freebies are the best way to get your studio busy, start making sales and most of all for getting tons of exposure.

3. Reward referrals. Make a policy to reward anyone who brings you referrals. When a client brings in a relative client, give them a gift of appreciation, such as a coupon worth reprints dollars at your studio, frames, or to a local spa or restaurant. As an added incentive, give a small gift to the new client as well.

4. Create a tie-in with another business. Contact a local business and offer to exchange coupons. For example, your client receives coupons from a local restaurant, hair salon, spa, or where your typical prospect would shop. A great place to start is with clients of yours who already own their own businesses.

5. Make your reception or waiting room "prospect and sales friendly". Whenever you create a family portrait or are shooting a wedding there are often people waiting in your reception area. Use this time to increase your upcoming sales presentation by explaining some of the items such as wall portraits and other packages and services. 7. Raise money for charity. Not only do you help a good cause, you get plenty of free, positive publicity and exposure. 8. Submit press releases to the local newspapers about a noteworthy event at your studio or a human interest story. Did you win a photography contest? Is there and article on photography that relates to local sites in your area or has to do with the seasons? People Management – The Objectives in Managing People

The new Manager will generally have great expertise in the technical side of the role, and high performance here will have gained them the promotion to people manager or supervisor. However, in every walk of life the newly appointed supervisor will have less developed people management, communication and people skills. Whether the work is in the shop floor, a hospital, an office or a business, the new Manager will have technical expertise but will require to build their people management and team building skills.

The Objectives of People Management

Identifying clear objectives will help any Manager begin to build the competencies that they need to manage people effectively. These objectives are:

1. To Achieve through the Results of Others. Up to now, the Manager has been responsible for his or her own performance and results. Now, you will be measured on the results of your team members. Success in people management is having team members that outperform the best of the best, and they do it without the Manager's help.

2. To Win Followers. It is the job of the leader to win the respect of the followers and to show them the direction forward. An effective people manager does not want to be liked, but they do want to show respect and to gain respect. Success is when the Team Members trust that they have a captain of the ship who will both keep them safe, and who will build the high performing team that will succeed.

3. To Build Personal Leadership. You can not lead others if you can not lead yourself. Before being a Manager, you could be loose cannon. Now you must control everything you do to ensure you win the respect of others and motivate them to achieve their goals. Appreciate that your attitude and behavior will influence your team members either positively or negatively. Use your behavior positively to encourage others to improve and achieve.

4. To Structure and Organize the World Load Effectively. People management understands knowing the strengths of your people and ensuring that you use those strengths effectively to achieve high results. That does not necessarily mean building a team of individual specialists, quite the reverse. Effective people management means building the right team to achieve your team's objectives. You may need to build flexible people who can step in to each other's role, or a team who can brainstorm and problem resolve any aspect of the team's workload. Start with the end in mind. Identify what type of team you want, and work out how you will train individuals and the team to get there.

5. To Build Effective Team Processes. Team processes are the systems we use to enable the team to achieve its goals. How do we solve problems, address issues, generate new ideas, monitor throughput of work or review how we are working together as a team? Think in terms of process as the solution to most work issues is to have the right process to deal with this. Success is when the team have an identifiable process that can call on to removing any block or implement any improvement. A high performing team will use this without the leader being present.

6. To Build Positive Working Relationships with Senior Management and other Colleagues. People Management involves not just managing your own people, and yourself, but managing your relationships with everyone. It is the role of the Manager to be capable of drawing down resources for the Team and ensuring that we work productively with other departments. Your team will want a leader who can influence and persuade others. A Manager must know what type of relationship is effective and they will go about building positive working relationships with a network of people through the organization. Success is when everyone wants to do business with you and others will listen to your perspective.

7. To Build the Habit of Setting Short-term Goals to Achieve Long-term Objectives. An effective People Manager takes steps forward every week and every month. Those steps are in identifiable goals, and those goals must be foundation bricks so that further goals will be more achievable. Managers walk and talk goals and goal achievement. Goals are motivational for the team members and for the Manager.

8. Celebrate Success. Good people management is about recognizing milestones, goal achievements or individual breakthroughs, and celebrating these with the team. What is MLM?

Multilevel Marketing is one of the fastest growing yet most misunderstood methods of moving products in use today. It has been termed by many as the Wave-of-the Eighties.

But, it will go far beyond that. By the 90's more than 100 billion dollars woth of products and services has been moved through Multilevel Marketing companies. As we are in the 21st century watch out!

What is MLM?

This question is quite frequently in response to a button we often wear or we have seen wearing by others.

Let's explain it.

1. Marketing simply means moving a product or service from the manufacturer or provider to the consumer.

2. Multilevel returns to the system of compensation provided to the persons who are causing the product to move or the service to be provided.

"Multi" means more than one.

"Level" means generation.

There are really 5 basic methods of moving products:

1. Retailing.

Ex. The drug store, the department store, …
You go into a store and buy something.

2. Direct Sales.

Ex. Tupperware, Avon, …..

3. Multilevel Marketing.

This should not be confused with retailing and Direct Sales which is commonly is.

4. Mail Order.

This can be an MLM but mostly is included in the Direct Sales category.

5. Pyramid Sales.

This type of Sales is to often confused with MLM.

The fact is, Pyramides are illegal. The main reasons they may be illegal is their failure to move a product or to provide a valid service.

If a product does not move, how can you even call it "marketing", let alone "Multilevel Marketing". Multilevel it may be, but Marketing they are not!

Now, most of the objections that people have about getting into Multilevel Marketing are due to not realizing the difference between MLM, Pyramid Sales and the Direct Sales methods of marketing.

This is understandble because most reputable MLM companies belong to the Direct Selling Association.

We have been conditioned to think of MLM as door to door direct sales programs because our first encounter with them was when a distributor knocked on our door to sell us something.

Anywhere, there are some features that differentiate MLM from Retail and Direct Sales companies and on very significant difference is that in MLM you are in business for YOURSELF but not BY YOURSELF.

Being in business for yourself means you are buying the products WHOLESALE from the company you are representing. This means also that you can use these products for your own consumption at WHOLESALE PRICES.

Since we are buying products WHOLESALE we can, if we wish, sell these products at RETAIL and make a PROFIT.

The most common misunderstanding about MLM is the notice that you HAVE TO sell retail to be successful.

You may sell if you want to or have to due to your particulare program procedure, but in regard to making the larger sums of income, the real success is in building the organization.

Let your sales come as the natural result of building the organization.

The word "selling" triggers negative thoughts in the minds of about 95% of the people.

In MLM you do not need to "sell" the products in the traditional sense of the word.

However, the PRODUCT DOES HAVE TO MOVE or NOBODY GETS PAID.

When you build an organization, you are actually building a network through which to channel your producths or services.

Retailing is the foundation of Network Marketing. Sales in MLM or Network Marketing come from distributors SHARING with their friends, neighbors and relatives. They never have to talk to strangers. Network Marketing or MLM is building an organization in which a lot of distributors all retail a little.

So, you see, its not going door to door every day calling on strangers.

Another point that differentiates MLM from Direct Sales is the SPONSORING of other distributors. This is called RECRUITING.

When you SPONSOR someone, you are making a COMITMENT to TEACH them how to do what you are doing, building a BUSINESS OF THEIR OWN. Sponsoring is what makes a Multilevel Marketing business so different an makes it grow.

As your organization grows, you are building towards becoming an INDEPENDANT SUCCESFULL BUSINESS PERSON. You are your OWN BOSS.

With Direct Selling companies you work for the company. If you decide to quit that company and move to another area, you end up having to start all over again.

In almost all of the MLM Programs you can move to another area of ​​the country and sponsor people without losing the volume generated by the group you left behind.

In MLM Programs you can make a lot of money by building an organization as your primary function.

A Multilevel Marketing Organization is not a pyramid scheme.

The pyramid is built from the top down and only those in at the very beginning can ever be near the top. And the pirce of the products or services get every step higher and higher, leaving the people at the bottom broke.

In the MLM Marketing everyone starts at the bottom and has the opportunity to build a large organization, even larger than his sponsor's organizationif he wants.

MLM Marketing is the solution to the distribution costs of the most companies because there will be nomore channels between the producer and the consumer. And the most part of the benefit can be paid to the distributors.

What is a Good Customer Focus Attitude in a Customer Service Person?

In Customer Service, the income for the Customer and for the Company is in the hands of the professional Customer Service person. How well they perform in each contact with their Customers depends on a number of factors. Their training will have an impact, as will their knowledge, skills and motivation. One of the strongest influencer on their performance with the Customer will be their ATTITUDE.

If you are a Customer Service person, or are building a Team of Customer Service people, it is important that you work at developing the RIGHT attitude, values ​​and beliefs. We all recognize someone with a bad attitude, someone who thinks Customers are stupid, or annoying, or someone who hates their job or their Company. These types of attributions ensure that these Customer Service people are guaranteed to give their customers a very bad experience.

Identifying the IDEAL Customer Service attitude is important, so that we can build this ideal attitude in ourselves and in our Teams. We call this attitude an Assertive Customer Focussed Attitude.

An Assertive Customer Service Team
In Customer Service, the ASSERTIVE zone is one of mutual respect, having a positive, respectful attitude to the Customer, the Company and to themselves. This compares to –
O An aggressive attitude, trying to put the other person down
O A submissive attitude, feeling weaker and pushed round by other people
O A defensive attitude, feeling weak but lashing out to protect this weakness

Assertiveness in a Customer Service Team is that zone of quiet confidence and helpful competency that Customers will like and trust.

Identifying Positive Customer Focus
To identify the right Customer focus for ourselves or our Team, we again look at the place we do NOT want to be. We will compare 3 types of attributions typical in Customer Service Teams –
1. Poor Customer Focus
2. Overly Accommodating Focus
3. Positive Customer Focus – the ideal.

1. Poor Customer Focus
Characteristics of someone with poor Customer focus are –
O Thinks negatively about customers
O Thoughts of THEIR OWN feelings and interests before that of the Company or the Customer
O He thinks he / she knows better and they already know what the customer needs
O Is uncomfortable with new people contacts or different types of people
O Is unwilling to handle complaints or special requests
O Does not listen well to customers and does nothing in response
O Is defensive and blames the customer
O Is afraid of difficult situations or people and may react with aggression. They may say, you can not handle people like that.

2. Overly Accommodating Focus
Characteristics of someone who is overly accommodating to Customers are –
O Overly responsive to customer demands
O Negative about the Company, its organization, its products and services
O Too willing to change established processes and timetables to respond to unreasonable customer requests
O Makes too many exceptions and does not form consistent policies, practices and processes for others to learn and follow
O Does not look for other workable options to solve customer problems and can resort to blame game
O Has real difficulty with complaint handling
O Has long, ineffective interactions and has difficulty steering back on track
O Sides with the customer too much

3. Positive Customer Focus – the ideal
Characteristics of someone who has the RIGHT Customer Focussed Attitude are –
O Wants to serve customers, to work with them to ensure every customer has a good exit wherever possible
O Believes in the Company and our products / service. We have something valuable to offer
O Believes that every customer and every situation is worth the effort, and the skills
O Displays sensitivity and empathy for customers
O Works at building skills and continuously improving
O Reacts to customer feedback and drives improvements
O Sees irate customers as a positive challenge to demonstrate the high quality of their skills
O Learns from their experience, continuously seeking to do / be better
O Is interested in the job. They talk about it, share experiences with others and learn from others' experiences

Answer objections that you know will be coming up later during the sale presentation with a consultative approach and people will not only trust you more but will likely make the sale easier for you and even buy more. This is also a great time to collect names. These people are somehow associated with you and at this point make excellent prospects.

6. Make copies of news articles about yourself and your studio. Hang them on the walls or pass them out. Past publicity is better than any advertising or promotional literature you can create. Give copies of positive articles to everyone who comes in for information.

7. Raise money for charity. Not only do you help a good cause, you get plenty of free, positive publicity and exposure. Hold a contest, offer some photography classes, give out free booklets- that you can easily write yourself and print for pennies by having them photocopied- think up your own exciting charity event.

8. Submit press releases to the local newspapers about a noteworthy event at your studio or a human interest story. Did you win a photography contest? Is there and article on photography that relates to local sites in your area or has to do with the seasons? Make your release interesting to the readers, never self-serving and you will get press coverage.

9. Give a free photography seminar or presentation at your studio. Invite members of the public and clients family members to be a part. A seminar gives them the chance to see your studio and your work. Offer something timely to do with how to create great photographs with digital cameras or offer a slide show from some of your more exotic travels. You could create an exhibition highlighting your work. Do not forget to invite the local newspaper.

10. Leave your business cards everywhere. Whenever you are at a restaurant, leave a nice tip and your card. Drop a stack off at the local jewellry store. Make sure card is loaded with your best samples and print on both sides to maximize the space for your sales message.

These certainly work, but they're not exactly unique. If you're new to the furniture market or you're looking for a way to stand out from the crowd, you'll want to choose something that does not involve Uncle Sam or Santa Claus. Here are some great options.

  1. Online classifieds -Websites like Craigslist and eBay have made the online classified ad sales process very easy. Customers turn to these places to check out merchandise before entering a store, so list your product here to reach them! Hire a part-time employee to photograph your franchise and list it on these sites, or you can even subcontract the work to business specifically-designed for the task.
  2. In-store training -Hosting in-store training classes or seminars is a great way to reach out to the home-improvement market. Bring in interior decorators to discuss home staging, décor selection, or even remodeling tips using your merchandise. These types of classes add value to your store, and the customers see you as more than just a transaction-based business-you're part of their lifestyle. Promote these events by hanging a vinyl banner outside your store listing the dates and times for each class.
  3. Trade-in -Consider adding a customer trade-in program to your store, where the customer brings in their old furniture and receives a credit towards new merchandise. If the furniture's in good enough shape, you can create a used section in your store for great bargains. If it's not in resalable condition, you can donate the furniture or at the very least dispose of it for your customer. This is again a way to make your store a convenience provider and encourage customers to remain loyal to you. List this service in your store windows using vinyl decals.
  4. New homes -Create a partnership with a local real estate agent, broker, or homebuilder. Since homes always sell better with furniture in them, offer to stage their new homes with your franchise in exchange for referrals. You can also add a sign in each home letting customers know where the furniture came from in-case they'd like to purchase it with the house or at least shop your store for a different selection. Some real estate agents may even want to purchase a piece of furniture directly from you as a house-warming gift for their new homeowners!
  5. Try before you buy -This bold strategy offers customers a chance to "test-drive" your furniture, so to speak. Selected customers are able to try furniture in their home for a preset amount of time to determine if they want to purchase it. Although this should not be offered for all of your products as it could become a logistic nightmare, it can be an effective way to boost sales. After all, if it's up to the customer to take the furniture home and bring it back, odds are they're going to keep it. Make sure you have a vinyl decal at your cash register clearly explaining the rules of the program so there are no issues.
